Lizzie Andrew Borden made her Last Will & Testament in 1926 just before the Great Depression of 1929. When she passed away on June 1, 1927 she was worth over a quarter million dollars. She had a chauffeur, live in maids, two cars, a nice home on the corner of French and Belmont Sts., jewelry, many investments in Utilities, and owned several office buildings in Fall River.

Lizzie shared her wealth with those family and friends who stood by her in the years after the trial. One interesting note is Lizzie's contribution to the Fall River Animal Rescue League for $30,000.
