Stefani Koorey holds a Ph.D. in theatre history and dramatic criticism, an M.F.A. in theatre management, and an M.A. in theatre arts---all from Penn State University (LETS GO LIONS!). She has enjoyed a varied professional life as a professional bibliographer, dramaturg, storyteller, writer, editor, professor, box office manager, and librarian.

        Stefani is the Editor and Publisher of The Hatchet: Journal of Lizzie Borden Studies.

        She recently revised and edited a new edition of Story Programs: A Source Book of Materials (Scarecrow Press, 2000) and is a regularly contributing reviewer of young adult literature for VOYA (Voice of Youth Advocates), and The New England Theatre Journal. Her newest book, Arthur Miller's Life and Literature: An Annotated and Comprehensive Guide was published in October of 2000. She is also the message board moderator for The Lizzie Borden Society.         Currently, she is a professor of humanities at a college in Florida, teaching theatre, acting, directing, screenwriting, history of the motion picture, and humanities. In addition, she is a long-time eBay-er, selling and buying theatre playbills, Lizzie Borden items, Arthur Miller and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, and great movies on dvd.

        Her interest in Lizzie Borden studies began some 25 years ago as her father, an avid reader of true-crime, offered up a title on the double-murder. The book was passed around the family, from father to daughter, from sister to sister, from daughter to mother, from mother to son, until all had read the mystery. Only then, did the dinner table discussions begin. And they have, in fact, never ended.
