This building is now the home of the Little Theatre of Fall River. It is located on the corner of Highland and Prospect, about a block away from Maplecroft.

Another Fall River gem thankfully still standing. It used to be a fire station.
I knew it! I saw that building when I was there and I thought that it looked like an old, old fire station. You know how the doors on those are built way high so the horses could come thru? But I never actually read that it was a fire station. Are you able to give a source on that, gt-master? This is also not far from Oak Grove Cemetery.
Here is Augusta's pic of that structure, taken last spring:

Thanks for posting that, Kat. I was too lazy. I would love to see the inside of that place - the whole thing, not just the stage area, however that may be set up. The whole building looks intriguing. (I love old buildings, houses - abandonded ones are great, too.)
"Private Joseph Francis was the first Fall River resident killed in action during World War I.
An infantryman in Company C of the 102nd Infantry’s 26th Division, Francis was at killed at Seicheprey, France, on April 20, 1918. He died at the age of 22.
According to an account in a May 1918 edition of The Evening Herald, Francis was a lifelong city resident who "was among the first men to go across when war was declared in this country."
Francis’ sacrifice was recognized and memorialized on Nov. 11, 1928, when Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 486 erected a monument in his honor.
The monument consists of a bronze plaque set into the face of a rough-hewn granite stone.
The stone is set on the shaded, grassy square at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Prospect Street, directly in front of the Little Theatre. The stone is flanked by twin evergreens."

Here's my painting of a ship!

Wow Kat that is really nice! My bosses have been away all month,
their son is in the navy and they went on his ship. I pictured
them on the "love boat" having the time of their lives but turns
out they were on a real battleship like your picture, no lounging
on the deck, they didn't even have windows in their rooms.
This is a pleasure boat that plied the waters from Fall River to New York. Here's an interior of one of these beautiful ships:
I've been on a Merchant tanker and an Aircraft Carrier.
The Carrier had escalators!
