If Lizzie was sworn under oath and u could ask her any question, what would it be?

Mine is the obvious: did u do it, or rather, HOW did u do it? . She would say "no", but at least I'd get to see her sweat under the collar

What exactly was the instrument of death, Miss Borden?

Besides Andy, Abby, Uncle John, and Bridget, who else was at the house that morning?

I thought about this some last night. I didn't want to ask Lizzie a question she could lie to, and then dismiss. I wanted to think up one that had a little emotional impact, to catch her off-guard, and something she might reply to with more than one word (to get her talking).
I decided I would ask her why she went to Alice's Wed. night and foretold doom. (I think she'd try to explain THAT one).

Where is Andrew's coat?

My question was designed to be neutral; it didn't ask her to betray anyone. She would realize that, and would give a non-responsive answer; or maybe "no one that I have already mentioned".

My speculation only. But Knowlton knew: "how many children has your father?"

What does "Where is Andrew's coat?" mean, Augusta?
(you can ask a question in paragraph form, right?--there's no rule that the question has to have the least amount of syllables...)
Or am I just being Dense?

I would love to have the opportunity to go back in time and have the technology and knowledge that they unfortunatly did not have at that time. I would probably use the same strategy as kat as she said earlier...to ask a question is very easy and simple to lie to but to go around the facts and search deeper into the question would have an incredible outcome...

So what, then, do you think you would ask her/or start a conversation with? An emotional query..something that you know would stike a chord with Lizzie and that she would really want to explain?

Lizzie, so I hear yr very fond of furry little creatures who dont have a home. That must mean u have the kindest heart and the sweetest disposition. U would never hack the old folks heads in two.

Remember that old woman who said that as a child she remembers Lizzie in old age taking her dogs out to Swansea and how Lizzie was the nicest woman she ever knew. I believe it entirely, I really do. But the Lizzie of 1892 was not the Lizzie of 30 years later

The most intriguing question other than who did it is: what exactly was the murder weapon/what happened to it?

Augusta wants to know where Andrew's coat is:
Does anybody know?
TinaR, how about some question about Emma?

I wanted to know about Andrew's coat because at first it was wadded up under his head. He wouldn't have done that. I think that's a real clew. But then later it disappeared. By answering, Lizzie might have been exposed in the lie about her father lying down and hanging up his coat, maybe talk about the clothing Morse paid to have buried so quickly, and finally where did the coat go? It might be able to be examined for hair and fibers, if we had today's technology. And the blood on it could be studied to see if the murderer probably did wear it or not. I don't see any other reason for the coat to be behind his head. The murderer must have had it on, then stuffed it there - any blood on it would be assumed to have come from his wounds.

Thanks for explaining that. I hadn't known the coat had disappeared. So of course we do need to know what happened to it!
