1. "A Bargain "Legend" Tape"

Following Harry's tip, I sometimes search on eBay for "Lizzie Bordon" items (with the surname misspelled). Today somebody is offering a Buy It Now on a tape of the "Legend" movie for $16.00. His problem is that he didn't spell "Borden" correctly, and he has no takers. Among the items I found using the correct spelling is the same tape, going for 'way more than twice as much! It pays to shop around.

For those that don't like the bidding
process (either buying or selling) eBay's affiliate site
http://half.ebay.com
can sometimes unearth a bargain item.
And for heaven's sake always check the seller's rating on eBay. Click the number which is part of the sellers name and read the comments from past buyers and sellers.
And if it's a book you're buying, as Edisto says, it pays
to shop around. It can pay a lot. The best site
I found for books, new and used, is http://www.bookfinder.com
I always check here to see if I can get it lower
and avoid the bidding war process.
You can also find an occasional Lizzie item under other
variations of her name such as Lizzy Borden and Lizzie
A. Borden. I'm sure there are others too.

You have to be EXTRA careful with the Legend tapes. Most are bootlegs, taken from the TV broadcast, and are often dupes of dupes of dupes. I read the feedback for the frequent sellers of such items and invariably there are complaints as to quality. If the seller does not say it is an original tape, you can bet your farm that it is a dupe and the quality will be iffy. Only two times in 3 years have I seen an 'original' copy for sale. And each went for almost 100 dollars. See, once you have one of those, you can dupe away and sell it yourself. (well, I don't, but some do).
I think there is a reason why the word is 'dupe'. You are being duped!
Isn't it time for this movie to come back to TV?? It has been a long time since I have seen it broadcast. I never get it at Halloween as some have said in the past.
