Ran across this fiction book, "The Weather of Hangmen", based upon the Borden case. It has Lizzie as a male. A new one to me.

The description says it's a blend of fact and fiction, based on an actual case in 1890's Ontario. But possibly a copycat murder of the Borden case. I'd never heard of it before. Might be interesting.

"Copycat case" NO! There were plenty of axe murders around then.
Whittaker Chambers grandma kept an axe in her room (before being sent to a rest home?). "A woman with an axe is a match for any man." This may be why Emma kept an axe downstairs. Really, a shotgun is the best home defense weapon. Even a 20 gauge at close range will do tremendous damage (or so they say).
