Found this site with a blurb about Carrie
Nation. She came after our Lizzie in the Women's Christian
Temperance Union, but, is also famous or infamous for swinging
an ax!!!

That LINK you provided took me to American
Express, Don't Leave Home Without It.
I'm famous for other's links not getting me there.

Gee...I couldn't even get American Express.
I got one of those "The Page You Requested Is Not Available"
messages. It seems to be something called "The
American Experience," which is abbreviated "AmEx."
No wonder it gets confused with American Express.

Yea, you're right, Edisto.
It was 1:30 in the morning when I looked at that.
At least Susan knows we looked at her link!

The "l" on html was dropped at the
end of the URL.
Try this:

Thanks Susan & Harry!
So Carrie Nation sold shares of American Express?

Yes, thank you, Harry! My bad, thanks
for the investigative work!
My question would be, who would you fear more coming at you
with an ax? Lizzie at 5'4" or Carrie at 6'?
Maybe Andrew and Abby broke the WCTU drinking laws and an
ax was a way to solve the problem? Well...at
least Carrie thought so!
Kat, don't know about the American Express? Did
they have something like a credit card in those days?
Interesting thought!
