I think this eBay seller is a little confused about who Lizzie Borden was:

Thanks, Edisto! That made my
night! I just sprayed coffee across my computer screen
though. Lizzie the Borden cow.

I did tell the guy, via email, and he came back with a good-natured message that he does know the difference but somehow had Lizzie stuck in his mind. I can certainly relate to that! (Unfortunately, he changed "Lizzie" to "Elsie," so it's no longer funny.)

Yes. But, you did a good deed, you
rid the world of a new myth that may have started: The
Bordens, a well-to-do family from Fall River, Massachusetts
kept a milch cow in the barn, named Lizzie. One day
Lizzie took up an ax and did in the family, her revenge
for all the hamburgers that the Bordens consumed.

The final "Jeopardy" question tonight was about Elsie, the Borden cow. "Advertising Age" named her one of the top ten advertising icons of the 20th century. She was one of only three that were animals. (Lizzie didn't make the list.) Not one of the contestents was able to guess one of the three. In fact, I don't think they understood the question. I did think of Elsie though, thanks to the eBay lister who confused her with Lizzie.

There is also Elsie's husband, Elmer the
bull for Elmer's glue. The Trix rabbit for Trix cereal. Tony
the Tiger, Frosted Flakes. The bear for Super Sugar
Crisp cereal. What were the top 3, you have piqued
my interest, Edisto!

Until you mentioned the Trix rabbit, I'd forgotten one of the three. It wasn't that wabbit -- it was the Energizer Bunny. Also Tony the Tiger. ...and of course, Lizzie!
Oooh, I did vaguely remember that portrait of Elsie with her hatchet. Wish I could have referred that eBay guy to her!

Thanks, Edisto. But, no Elmer? I
think Elmer is better known nowadays than Elsie. Oh
well.

I was reading Edisto's comments before dropping my gaze to the Elsie picture,
And what to my wondering eyes did appear, but......
ELSIE WINKED AT ME!
