Lizbeth Letter
There's a letter by Lizzie (Lizbeth of Maplecorft) up for auction at Heritage Auctions. Here Lizzie complains to her next door neighbor, Mr. Kenny, about a barking dog. It is signed a neighbor, but in Lizzie's handwriting. Opening bid is 2500 dollars. (click to make BIG)

Re: Lizbeth Letter
That is an interesting letter. I am surprised that Lizbeth complained about a barking dog, since she had dogs of her own, and because she was so fond of animals that she bequest $30,000 to the Animal Rescue League of Fall River along with her shares of stock in the Stevens Manufacturing Company. Very odd, very odd indeed!

She also writes a letter to a neighbor - Mr. Brayton 5/31/1900 - complaining about a noisy bird that he presumably owned as a pet.
Strangely enough in Victoria Lincoln's book - Ms. Lincoln as a little girl remembers trying to talk to Ms. Borden as she was feeding her bird feeding stations.

Re: Lizbeth Letter
The dog barking could also indicate strangers/lookie-loos lurking about, trying to get a look at her through windows or coming and going in her car- which I'm sure would make her uncomfortable.
