I read it from Saturday night on and off and finished it Wednesday night. (I was also working on The Hachet. )
I asked my sister and I asked my neighbors so far and no one has read it. The neighbor kids have a summer reading list- and they go back to school in 2 weeks!
(Yikes!)
I want to talk about the ending because I don't believe it. Ask your sister if she believes it? Just yes or no?

I will ask her. I do know she said someone got killed. I can't remember who. I have not read any of the books so I don't know alot about them.
I had the hardest time getting them into our library when the first one came out. Our town is very small, very strong... and strist Christianity and a library board consisting of ladies aged 68-81. They were not too keen on the idea of the books and never agreed to pay for them. I ordered them anyway and they still have no clue to this day! They only come in if they had a problem with me or when they wanted to show their ignorance at one of their meetings. They were very hard to work with and finally I had to resign and turned it over to my aunt. Most of the board members hated me because of my unusual way of doing things and the fact that I was trying to go by the book on the state library laws which they chose to disreguard. Oh well! I am rambling!

Hi, Kat!
Yes, I have read the new Harry Potter! I got my copy at midnight when it came out.
I finished reading it the next day. Excellent book, really dark!
I am looking forward to see Goblet of Fire in November when it comes out.
Take care!
Pam

Hi, Kat!
No, I couldn't believe the ending. I mean from the start, you knew it was going to be dark, but I was really surprised.
I don't know how younger kids are going read it and handle it, it seems this book was more easily readable by an older person, you know? I mean I'm sure people think it's strange that I'm into Harry Potter being 34 years old, but JK writes so well, her book trancends age groups. Wouldn't you agree?

Thanks for the reply!
It's the kind of book where I can live -day-to-day. You know, a whole other world that's completely different yet is by now comfortable to know. Reading those books is like entering another way of life and they don't even need adventure or tragedies or something happening every minute.
Anyway, what I mean about believing the ending, is that I don't believe the ending. I think it's a ruse on the part of the character. Meaning what *happened* didn't really happen, and I wondered if anyone had that same reaction. Did you think that?
Of course, I thought that during a Patricia Cornwell book way back and the character she blew up stayed blown up.
