They're Still Kickin'

Post by augusta »

I was surprised to read in the paper recently that Luise Rainier (sp?) is alive at the age of like 94. She played the wife in "The Good Earth" movie. I think she was married to playwright Clifford Odettes (sp?). I think she won two Oscars.

We are losing so many of our old, beloved stars. There's not many of them left.

Maureen O'Hara, Richard Widmark, Sid Caesar, June Allyson, Mickey Rooney, Eli Wallach, Olivia deHavilland, Joan Fontaine, Glenn Ford are a few I can think of.

I know what you mean.

All the Silent Movie stars are gone and many of the '30's - stars are gone or getting up there in age. Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley Temple and Paul Newman are still here and a few others I can think of.

At least we have them on film!

I have a hard time relating to these new "stars" that are coming out of the woodwork now days. I like Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts and a few others, but the rest? No.

I checked all those names, and, as far as I can find, they're still alive.

Maureen O'Hara actually, I saw an interview with her...earlier this year or late last it was on Larry King Live. I'd have sworn the woman was not more than 60 years old. She always was a gorgeous thing...and still is, even past 80. Don't believe me? Note the date on the picture to the left here. http://www.moharamagazine.com/
