These 1898 Class portraits for B.M.C Durfee High School are listed in the Keeley Library site, as are Class portraits and yearbooks for subsequent years. I find them fascinating. I love old photos. I had previously found Victoria Lincoln's High School yearbook photograph listed, which I posted on another thread somewhere quite awhile back. I don't know if any of these photographs depict anyone connected to the case, but they are still interesting.

William Andrew Dolan, Jr. (b. 18 March 1895) is listed in the 1912 annual on page 44, Melissa. The blurb there sez:
"Bill" is a College Preparatory student but does not yet know whether he will "pursue" his studies further . He vouches the startling information that when he gets out into life he is going to "work" ; this is contrary to all early indications. He further adds that he desires to engage in the automobile business . There is little doubt but that he "auto" make good, provided he does not get "tired" too often.
As can readily be imagined his hobby is "autos" yet he has a fulsome respect for things equestrian . "A horse, a horse, my auto for a horse."
-----
I've not looked in awhile, but I dimly recall this same young feller listed as a survivor of Dr. Dolan in a news obit. The item also listed (strangely I thought) the occupations of his children. For the life of me I don't remember what young Dolan's profession was given as.
William A. Dolan, M.D., July 28, 1858-Oct. 1, 1922
William A. Dolan, Massachusetts PFC Air Service, World War I
March 18, 1895-Aug. 27, 1968

I staid the night for shelter at a farm behind the mountains, with a mother and son - two "old-believers." They did all the talking...

What’s that they say about the more things change? Love the “car-crazed teen” angle.
I'll have to see what if anything I can ferret out concerning young Dolan's military records. That "PFC Air Service" sounds all at once fascinating and frightening.
