Program Alert Worlds Creepist Destination

On the travel channel at 11:00 am est time, worlds creepist destination will be on. One the destinations is Lizzie Bordens home. Don't know if it is a repeat of one we have already seen or not. But I'll be watching it. Probably one I have already seen. Thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

I've seen this five or six times-- painfully little time is spent Chez Borden. Maybe three minutes, at the very end. However, do watch it at least once. The MonsterQuest is much, much better, even though the entire hour isn't devoted to La Liz & Co.

I, for one, would love to hear the other EVPs caught at the B&B.
Has anyone heard them and is anyone gathering them in one place?
I plan to take my recorder when I visit in September...but don't hold out much hope as I lack experience EVPing....to invent a new word!

Larry, I was just curious as to whether you've been to the Lemp mansion in St. Louis? It's allegedly pretty haunted. I'm planning to visit there in Aug.

Katherine Ramsland has a chapter on spending the night at the Borden B&B in "Ghost: Investigating the Other Side" (NYC: St. Martin's, 2002), in which she recounts leaving a tape recorder ON before she retired in the old guest bedroom, where Mrs. Borden was murdered. Ramsland relates that she dreamed that a woman was speaking to her, through the recorder, but, when she awoke, the recorder was inexplicably shut OFF.
Ramsland also says she took the recorder to the cellar and picked up a gruff male voice that scared her so much, she departed the premises.
Anyway, I pass this along, as these two areas seem "primed" for picking up EVPs. Why not take several recorders, in case one craps out on you? If you leave one running in a room, make sure it's a plug-in, as ghosts have been known to drain batteries dry of juice, in their effort to absorb energy and "come through"-- or, so say the investigators.
So, pack plenty of batteries, too.
Also, stick to simple questions-- ones that can be answered in a single word. Such as, "Mrs. Borden, who killed you?" and "Mr. Borden, who killed you?" and "Is the hatchet in the house?"
Why not take pictures, too, to see if anything "extra" turns out on them?
Anyway, carry a back-up recorder, have one with a cord, and bring extra batteries.

And thanks DJ for the hints on EVPing. The very thought of
the basement creeps me out......haha. I'll have to suck it up if I want
to hear the gruff voice telling me to "get out!"

The Creepiest Destinations is not a new episode. Katherine Ramsland ( a really impressive gal), was frightened when the machine picked up "GET OUT" in a old man's voice to her query "Is anyone here?"
This was in the cellar- and she and her assistant did "get out"! Psychic Glen Tezza is returning this August 4th to stay in the cellar. You may recall he was with us 2 years ago at that date and was featured on the front page of the Herald.

It makes me wonder if it's the new technology sometimes...I know I can put my cellphone on my desk at work and check it later and it's turned off. Could the recorders be shutting themselves down? I just thought of that when you mentioned that about the recorder being turned off. I agree with using one that plugs in...do they still make them??

I've read a few of Ramsland's books and, on that level, I'm not as impressed.
