Lizzie's dogs
Does anyone know what became of Lizzie's dogs-Royal Nelson, Laddie Miller, and Donald Stuart between the time she died and the date in which they were buried in the pet cemetery in Dedham?
I assuming they outlived her?
Did Charles Cook take care of them after her death or were they possibly put to sleep after she passed away and keep in storage until they were buried?

Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery has the distinction of being the oldest animal burial ground operated by a humane society in America. Located in Dedham, Massachusetts, the memorial park is the final resting place for countless beloved pets, including three of Lizzie Borden’s black and white Boston Bull terriers. The breed was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1893, the year Lizzie and her sister Emma moved into Maplecroft. Boston bulls were the lap pet of choice among Boston’s upper crust Back Bay society matrons.
Lizzie’s dogs were all buried in 1928, the year after her own burial, so were most likely unearthed from the back yard of Maplecroft for a more noble final planting in Dedham. Miss Borden enjoyed country drives with her dog perched on a little shelf beneath the back seat window. You can get the directions on Google. The photo was taken in 1995.

If you go, please realize it is a cemetery for pets.
When we went (Harry and Len and Bill Pavao and Stefani), I looked at the Borden plot and then shielded my eyes from the other stones and their sad little epitaphs. It really got to me. I waited in the car after. They were calling out names, what kind of pet and reading inscriptions (like for Polly the parrot) and I plugged my ears and sang. I'm too soft about stuff like that.
It's certainly a cool place tho!

Being that she had 3 dogs, I thought she had all of them at the same time. Or does anyone know if she had one, then it died, she got another and so on...I have heard that she enjoyed drives with a dog perched in the window but also that she took her dogs to run over in Swansea.

Kat,
I will have to root around and see what I can find.
I know I have heard different things, but I remember seeing a man interviewed in front of a field in Swansea saying she used to come there to run her dogs, not just one. So that makes me wonder if she had one at a time, or all three at the same time.

I would really love to know. I am working on something, and although it sounds trivial, it's kinda a key element.
If you can find out, or point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks, Shelley!
