Holidays, 2008

Post by Bob Gutowski »

I'm here at a very deserted office (and a very desserted office, too, after yesterday's dessert party!), and I want to wish all of you Bordenians, young and old, a holiday season just as you'd like it, quiet or riotous, religious or secular, brimming with blessings or loaded with gifts.

(Or any combination thereof!)

Best wishes,
Bob

MErry Christmas Bob, and everyone!

I am lounging in 75 degree weather, sunny with a high today of 83. Sorry to rub it in, but what is the good of good weather if you don't get to share it with the ones you love?

Do you at least get to leave early on Christmas eve? :santa:

I'm going to disregard the fact that SOME PEOPLE are enjoying the warmth of southern climes and wish all of you (especially those in the character-building northern regions) a very Merry Christmas.

Chris, it's the one day of the year where snow is welcome. Nothing like a white Christmas! I miss that.

Hope everyone has a super Christmas! Image

Thanks. Needed a hat, kinda cold here, only 37 this morning.

For those that love the Dickens classic, "A Christmas Carol", the entire book can be found here. Undoubtedly Lizzie read it.

Merry Christmas to all.

I'm definitely in those "character building northern regions". I'm still cycling too (not sure if that's character or just insanity).

Woke up to over 4 inches of snow. Tho it's getting warmer & we'll be having a thaw...supposedly to be followed by another freeze.

Egads. Hate winter.

Anyway, all the best everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone!

It will definitely be a white Christmas here, it's getting whiter by the minute!

It's a rare white Christmas here in the Pacific Northwest. There have been snowstorms and below normal temperatures for over a week now, and with all the evergreens it looks greeting card pretty if you don't have to go anywhere. Few people on the west coast ever get around to putting on snow tires, so when the roads are covered we generally curl up with a good book and hope the power doesn't go out.

Merry Christmas everyone! And a big 'amen' to Bob's original post on this thread!

Found this on gawker.com and had to share. It dates from 1914.

Merry Christmas to all. Today I was in the wilds of Maine with my three wonderful grandchlidren. Tonight we are back in Billerica,a warm but snowy white wonderland.Tomorrow we will be going to Swansea(not the farm) by way of Fall River,to visit other Borden family members. I hope you all have a great Christmas, be safe and warm.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I've just returned from dropping my brother off at the airport and he's on his way back to sunny Savannah. Our weather yesterday was in the mid 60's - I felt like I was back in Georgia too.
