The Borden Case In Pic Magazine
Does anyone have a copy of the article on the Borden case that appeared in Pic Magazine in 1938 (I believe)? I am particularly interested in the images they used of Lizzie. Were they the standard images of her, or were they edited and "updated" versions? Thanks in advance...

Yes, I do. I published them in the Hatchet years ago. I will find them and post them on Mondo for you today!

Stuart, that was the same issue your article appeared in about the Saratoga Springs Lizzie Borden parties! Don't you have a copy?

I posted the whole set for you all to enjoy. Note the large image of the barn being taken down. It is really cool in this large format. Are those finished steps inside?

Thank you!
Thanks very much, Stefani! I remembered vividly the photo of the barn being dismantled, but I had forgotten "Lipstick Lizzie"!
I think I have a copy of The Hatchet with my contribution, but it is in my old computer. Some day when I'm rich I plan to get all of the issues of The Hatchet in printed form.
The reason I asked about the Pic article is that I found another Pic article from 1939 about the new Broadway production of "The Man Who Came To Dinner." Featured were scenes from the play, but Pic skillfully changed the heads to feature who the characters were actually based upon.
Lizzie was in there, on the body of Harriet Stanley. As it turns out, it was the same "Lipstick Lizzie" they had printed before. (I was hoping I'd found something new--shucks!)

Thanks for the push, Kat!
Here is the photo. The caption reads:
"During his protracted visit, Whiteside has persuaded his host's children to follow their own desires in opposition to their father's wishes. When the host attempts to thwart the children's plans, Whiteside silences him by discovering that his sister Harriet Stanley (Ruth Vivian) is the hatchet murderer (Lizzie Borden)."
Pictured are Lizzie Borden, Alexander Woollcott, and Edith Atwater.
