Ed McBain Special

Post by cfking »

I just purchased and watched the Ed McBain special for the first time. After groaning at least 500 times over misinformation and things that were completely incorrect-I realize all of the Borden experts have finally made me appreciate their fact-based conclusions even more!
Something did peak my interest. He stated that Alice Russell said she saw something so horrific at the house that she couldn't tell anyone. And that she wouldn't even if they threatened to cut her tounge out.
I thought this was very interesting, but was wondering if there is any truth to this or if it's just conjecture? I hadn't read anything about it so far and if she said it-it would seem to be very interesting.

Not Alice, but I thought that was attributed to Adelaide Churchill.

We've speculated on this, but it seems to be just one of the many rumors surrounding the case.

Whoops! It was Churchhill! My bad!
I was wondering because I had not heard this before. I would be curious about who reported that gossip!

You will find it in the Witness statements, page 46.

The source for this alleged Churchill comment is none other than so-called Detective McHenry, he of the infamous Trickey-McHenry false newspaper article.

Take the story with a large dose of doubt. Very large.
