Lizzie's picture

Post by Angel »

I have always thought that Lizzie looked a tad "off" in her pictures. Yesterday when I looked at one of them it seemed like one side of her face looked normal, but the other side looked like a totally different person. The side on the left makes her eye look demented and her mouth turns down. The right side looks pleasant. Am I imagining this?

In the Links section of this site there is a thread called That's My Face. It pretty much confirms what you are seeing Angel. I think most people have 2 different sides on their face. You will find this Link pretty interesting.

She has an interesting face. She has that "I am here, but I am not here" look in her eyes. There are two pictures of her that may, or may not be her. I always try to compare ears. They don't change. She had big ears. A sign of generosity, generally speaking. I like her eyes. They are set rather oddly. Too bad people didn't tooth smile back then. Was it because it might blur ? Photography took a few seconds. There is one of her with a wistful smile that I always liked.

That one eye always looks like that of a dead fish.

Many film stars are attuned to the differences between the left and right sides of their faces, whether they admit it or not.

Claudette Colbert, once she had some clout in the film industry, refused to be photographed except on her left side.

Barbra Streisand is a more recent example. There was the incident where Rosie O'Donnell rearranged her talk-show set, so that Barbra would sit to Rosie's left and thus be filmed (taped) in left profile. That was a poorly kept secret.

Notice how desk-set talk-show hosts have the guests sit to the right of them-- the hosts are the stars of their shows, and they seem to realize THEY look better in left profile, so the guests, who come and go (and are usually anxious to promote something) can lump it!

Angel, I do this ALL THE TIME -- one side of a person's face will often "show who he/she really is" and the other side, will show "what he/she wants you to see." I do it with "celebrities gone wrong," criminals, and just regular people -- it's so uncanny and almost eerie -- your face truly doesn't seem to be able to hide as much as you'd like it to -- I've also found that some people's faces are completely the same on each side; in this case, one has to wonder whether "what you see is what you get," or if Botox is involved....

I always found the new picture of Emma to look different, as well. I studied them side by side, and the ears have it ! Lighting can make eyes look very different. I have photographs of myself that are so " not me."

There are 2 other pics of Lizzie that came into question. I like the one where "she's" in the group. It looks like her to me, but without a good study of the ears, I can't say for certain. We all change. Gravity and time, along with stress, and genetics lay a map upon our faces. I looked best from 20 to 26. Then things went kind of cattywompus.

What absolutely fascinating research all of you have done! Brilliant! And yes, it states on the passport that she was 5'3" and that her eyes were grey, and that she had "light brown" hair. Looks as though she filled that part out herself?

That face-mask is just nearly alarming! Looks quite like a death mask, but what a likeness! Incredible.
Thanks for the re-post.
