Any Borden Descendants?
I've read several books on the Borden case and just wondered: did Andrew and Abby have any descendants? Andrew had one sister, married to Hiram Harrington, and Abby had one sister and one half-sister, Priscilla Fish and Abby Whitehead. Did Andrew's sister have any children? And what about Mrs Fish? There is scant mention of her in any of the books I've read. I know that Mrs Whitehead had two children, young Abby and George. Abby became Mrs Potter and was interviewed by Judge Robert Sullivan for his book. Mrs P had a nephew George, but did she not have any children and did her brother have more than one? Neither Mrs Fish nor Mrs Harrington seem to have been in contact with the Bordens. I wonder why? Does any fan out there have any info?

Priscilla Fish is one who I have not figured out yet as having her own children.
The newspapers say Fish progeny attended the Borden funeral, but I have yet to find out if they are his, or theirs (a product of their marriage).
Shelley was going to look up Fish in Connecticut, at which point a topic here ended- and still waiting...(she seems to be perpetually busy)...
Here is a PDF dowload of a "Fish" story, Fall River Globe 9Aug1892. Please keep in mind not all *facts* stated in newspapers were correct this early in the reportage of the crime, and immediate aftermath.

A bit more on the Borden-Montgomery relation allegation can be found at http://www.genealogymagazine.com/elmo.html
I staid the night for shelter at a farm behind the mountains, with a mother and son - two "old-believers." They did all the talking...

My children and ex husband are some how descendants of the Borden family. I once saw a family tree that was constructed by my late father in law and I believe it went back to his 5th generation great grandmother being Andrew's sister. My ex husband's middle name is Borden, his grandfather's middle name was Borden, and our oldest twin son's middle name is also Borden. I will have to get in contact with my ex mother in law and try to get a copy of that family tree and trace it back myself to confirm the authenticity, as my daughter is showing interest in her family roots. I have read many books on this case and in my heart always felt Lizbeth innocent.

Actually, Andrew and Abby had no descendants. Neither Lizzie nor Emma had children, and there were no other children to carry on the line.
I'm sure everyone is referring to descendants of relatives of Andrew and Abby, but being a genealogist for 35+ years I just felt compelled to clarify that....kinda like a person who just HAS to straighten a crooked picture.

Re: Any Borden Descendants?
Any actual Borden descendants come from the Brothers and Uncles of Andrew's father and grandfathers. So cousins. I know that Francis Borden who came to Monmouth County NJ when it was settled and Andrew's great x's grandfathers were brothers. My husband has an great uncle named Isaac Borden who is a descendant from Francis. Isaac Borden b. 20 Aug 1818 Shrewsbury, Monmouth Co, NJ d. 1865 West Long Branch, Monmouth County NJ married Abby A West b 1820 Shrewsbury, Monmouth Co, NJ d. 1895 Monmouth Co, NJ.... yeah I know freaky. but she was the sister of his Great Grandfather here. So I guess inadvertently through marriage and several times removed.
I always wondered if the Borden's from the New Jersey line kept in touch with the relatives from Rhode Island and Massachusetts. And what their thoughts might have been when the news of Andrew and Abby's murders were announced. Or did they even know that they were related?

Re: Any Borden Descendants?
Further to the above posts, there might not be any Borden descendants, I wonder if there are any on the Morse side? Uncle John Morse was unmarried but I'm sure in all the Borden books a brother of his was mentioned - I think his name was William and there was mention of a niece. There might have been more children. But the Bordens didn't seem to have any social interaction with that side of the family. Anyone know of any Morse descendants?
