Robert B. Parker, author of the Spenser detective novels has died at the age of 77.

Spenser visits Fairhaven in one of the novels and Parker attended the Center School in Mattapoisett as a child.

I heard on NBC last night that he had a heart attack at his keyboard. That's the way I wanna go!

Eric Segal (sp? author of "Love Story," who was a roomie w/ Tommy Lee Jones and Al Gore in college) died this past Saturday. Apparently, he had been suffering from Parkinson's for many years.
