The name in my Porter

I have been doing some online research and I realized if anybody would know it would be you folks. My copy of Porter's "Tragedy" sits in my safety deposit box. It has been almost two years since I saw it and being on that side of town today I stopped in to say "Hi" to it. I took some photos if somebody wants to post them, I will gladly e-mail them out. BUT in the inside cover in very bold what looks like large pencil or almost crayon this name is inscribed,

Fellows

Any chance anybody has any idea who this might be? I am wondering who owned my book and what connection if any, this person had to the Borden family.

Sorry, Darthvader. It doesn't ring a bell. There is no listing for "Fellows" in Hoffman's "Yesterday in Old Fall River" nor in "The Knowlton Papers".

What you could try is to go to http://www.google.com and across the top of the search blank there are words in blue. Click on "more" and click on "books".

You can enter "Fall River" in the search blank when the google books page comes up. Then bring up any book you choose, and there will be a search box on the page that says "search in this book", and there type in "Fellows" (capitalize the 'F', and quotes are unnecessary because it's one word).

I would pay particular attention to older books, because if it is a person's name you may find it on a committee of some sort in Fall River, in a club, or as some city worker.

I bought an old copy of the Fall River Historical Society's very early meeting minutes, and I knew ahead of time whose name was written as the owner inside. It was nobody extremely famous in the case, but it's still cool to really know whose copy it was.

Wilfred D. Fellows was a Deacon of the Central Congregational Church for many years and served on several Committees. There's a picture of him in the History of the Central Congregational Church by Earl, along with all the other deacons, including Charles Holmes. Of course it could be different "Fellows". Wouldn't be too much off the mark to assume the subscription copies of Porters book got into the hands of many churchgoers, especially those of lizzie's church.

I would guess that Wilfred Fellows would be the one.
In my copy of the 1900 edition of the Fall River city directory, there are three Fellows listed:

1) Jeremiah, machinist, 521 Tecumsah

2)Thomas, mule spinner (!), 1387 Pleasant

3) Wilfred D.. general secretary, Y.M.C.A., 95 June
