Times a wasting......

I was wondering......... What do others think Lizzie was doing while Bridget went for help right after the murders? I'm not sure just how long Bridget was gone. I think Lizzie at least went upstairs and opened the guest room door so Abbys body could be found with ease. Any other ideas?

I sometimes wonder if Lizzie hid the hatchet inside the burning stove, not to destroy the handle and burn off any blood, but just to hide it beneath the ashes untill she could hide it better later. Of course burning off the handle would make it easier for Lizzie to hide the head later. She could then drop the head into a storm drain on her way into town or bury it in the backyard. I doubt she would have hid it where it would later be found.
