George Whitehead

According to Rebello, Abby Borden Potter had a younger brother, George Whitehead, born in 1887. There is no other information given about him. Does anyone have any information so that we might know more about him? Thanks.

The site's Crime Library Chrononology shows a middle initial of O and a birth month of March. On FamilySearch, the only thing I found was the U.S. Social Security Death Index showing George Whitehead (no middle initial) who was born March 23, 1887 died in Rhode Island in July, 1963.

That's all I have at the moment.

Thanks for that. I must admit that my curiosity about George is due to the fact that neither Rebello nor Paul Dennis Hoffman have anything about him other than a birth date in their books. One has to wonder if he had offspring and passed any family lore down to them, the way his sister Abby did.

Here is a PDF download I just created from the Abby Potter news item published in 1969. Of course, she has some details wrong, but it's interesting to hear her family's version of things.

This came either from Len Rebello or Bill Pavao, I'm sorry to say I can't remember which. Thanks to them both tho, for past help in collecting items such as this.

Here is George Whitehead in 1930 census I had collected this year. There is his sister Abby Potter there, in Swampscott, Essex County.
