An odd question

Post by snokkums »

I have an odd question. I have always wondered about this. One: Could Morse and Emma have been conspirsitors with Lizzie? Seems to me that Morses' alibi seems to perfect. He remebers the exact number of the street car, the street care driver everything.

Second: I think Emma might have given the idea to Lizzie. She was always talking to Lizzie about her mother and she wasn't to found of Abby. I think she was just smart of enough to be out of the house when lizzie did the deed. Seems odd to me that Emma just happened to be out of the house and town when Lizzie did the deed.

I don't think it's an odd question-- it's to the point.

I don't see how Emma could not have known what Lizzie was planning. I think it's one reason why she got out of the house for such an extended period-- she (Emma) didn't want to be implicated.

I wonder whether Emma was as much of a suspect in the Daylight Robbery as Lizzie, insofar as Andrew and Abby were concerned. Still think the bedroom key went up on the mantel afterward as a dare to sticky-fingered daughter(s).

We tend to blame Lizzie in retrospect for the Daylight Robbery, but it could have been that Emma was as much of a suspect.
I don't think she was the actual thief, but I certainly think that she had a handle on what Lizzie was doing, and may have gone so far as to have served as lookout.

Well, if you can "buy" Emma aiding and abetting Lizzie in the robbery, is it such a stretch to imagine her complicit (to the extent that she knew what Lizzie was planning) in the murders, as well?

I believe JVM came down to help appease Andrew over Abby's (planned by Lizzie, told to him by Emma) murder. I think JVM came up short the day of the murders, at the side door, with the detour to the pear tree, when he discoverd Lizzie had polished off Andrew, not according to plans.

But to say that Emma got out of the house for an extended period of time because she didn't want to implicated, states to me that Emma had an idea of what Lizzie might do. And, let's face it,Lizzie looked up to her sister, listened to her, only heard about her mother thru Emma, might have given Lizzie a change to go crazy and do what Emma wanted to do.
