Avatars.

Post by FactFinder »

There are so many interesting avatars for the members on this site. I've always thought an avatar, even if it's not a photo of the person, says a little about them. What they are interested in, what's important to them, or if they have a sense of humor. My avatar is a prison photograph of Theo Durant or "The Demon of the Belfry." He was found guilty of murdering two women inside a church in 1897. He was assistant superintendent of the church. He maintained his innocence up until the day he was hanged at San Quentin. There has been controversy over whether or not he actually did it. His sister was Maude Allan, an actress, dancer, and choreographer who actually appeared in a silent film called The Rug Makers Daughter in 1910. I found a book about the case at my local library and have been fascinated by it ever since. I was just wondering if anyone wanted to share a little about their avatars. Strange topic, I know  .
Using big words and fancy language doesn't make you sound educated. What makes you sound educated is knowing what the hell you're talking about.

I don't have an avatar because I am completely technologically illiterate and don't know how to put one in. Sob!

I just changed my avatar a few days ago!

I have always liked animated avatars. I chose the Comedy/Tragedy Theatre Masks because I think the members of this forum become very excited about any new discovery, and yet are sadden by the mysteries that are a huge part of the Borden Case.

My avatar is me taken after Christmas 2014. One of my kids has high-functioning autism. She is fascinated by video and still cameras along with how my hair has turned from deep reddish brown to silver. Thus there are hundreds of pictures of mainly my hair...:-)..including this one.

You can send to Stefani an e-mail with a picture attached that you wish to be your avatar. She will help you.

My picture is of my great grandmother taken in 1898, shortly before her death at age 25. Only pic ever taken of her.
What is a Picture, but the capture of a moment in time.
