Oh my goodness! I agree, these moral panics are stupid, but they are also funny. The one that I found most interesting is the one about dancing to the Waltz. Since this dance had become one of the trendiest dances in the world by the 19th century, I wonder if Lizzie ever danced to the Waltz.

I'm a little late reading this thread but glad I did. I remember when the parents were complaining that pinball machines used metal that we needed for the war effort. Interesting panic stuff.
