I think a drawbridge would be rather interesting. Andrew would probably have preferred a moat around no. 92 and a drawbridge in front of his front door!
It would be nice if we knew for sure what was on that Second St block and on the block opposite (the Bowens' duplex) from the start of European settlement. I'm inclined to agree with tj that it probably didn't ever actually lead anywhere.
As far as the Bordens are concerned, the police never mentioned searching a tunnel or for a tunnel, did they? Wonder whether the workings were marked on old city plans.
