Opera browser now freeware

Post by Harry »

For those who like to try different browsers, an alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, Opera 8.5 is now free.

It is capable of operating under the Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.

They also offer a premium support package for which they charge.

Worth a look if you like options to using Microsoft.

Thanks for the cool link Harry! I may have to give that a try. I'm not very happy with my current browser.

Thanks for the info, Harry.

You suggested Firefox a while back and I switched over because my IE had been stalling a lot. That worked well so I'll give the free Opera a try. It's always nice to have options.

I don't particularly like Microsoft, and I won't use their Search Assistant, but I do admit a fondness for the little pupply on Search Companion. I think the puppy is the only reason I still use IE.

Purr-ington, I assume you are referring to the dog in the Windows XP search. ie: click Start and then Search.

Yeah, Rover is cute. Double click on him and you'll get a choice of other animated characters. One is "Brocklee" a stalk of broccoli wearing ear phones. Just what we always wanted.

Does anybody use and have an opinion on Google's GMail?
