The Bride! My favorite! We were running lines from it in the van on the way back from the CHILLER Horror convention Saturday. And don't forget the fate of The Neumanns in BRIDE, hacked with a hand-axe, one on a cot downstairs, and poor Frau N. upstairs in a room off the staircase...hmm, I wonder where they got THAT from?

Based upon a recent scientific study of television programming, over
99.5 per cent of hotels and B&Bs are haunted.

Conversely, the same study reveals that families living in private homes are almost entirely devoid of ghosts, and other scary creatures that go "Boo" in the night.

Now ain't that a kick in the head!

I am dismayed at the History Channel for the way they present these so-called "hauntings" They give validity to people with little machines that go 'click' and walk around claiming its cold in certain areas of a room. This is not even a psuedo-science, there is still not an ounce of proof that spirits or hauntings actually occur, its only the word of these 'ghost hunters' who want to get on tv, or IMO, bereaved or obsessed people searching for an answer to the afterlife. The recent upswing in interest and gullibility in this subject is reminiscent of the 'seers' and seances, and phony spirit photographers back in the early 1900s. Maybe it has something to do with the turn of another century.

I agree Kash. I think it's pretty dumb at times. I like the idea that these things are being investigated but not necesarily the people or the methods used. And you are right it doesn't belong on the History Channel. Put it on SCI or SCIFI.

I used to love to watch the Amazing Randi. He exposed quite a few of the psychics and has a standing offer of one million dollars for someone who can provide evidence of paranormal power.

One of his exposures was of the spoon bender Uri Gellar. (Just what the world needs is more bent spoons and keys!) Check out the video on Randi's web page of Gellar on Johnny Carson.

Thanks Harry-its a great site! I personally would LOVE to believe that I might somehow communicate with the dearly departed-and I hold a healthy respect for the unknown. But these charlatans who prey on the bereaved, or who lie on tv, are beneath contempt. (The prize-winner was gastro-intestinal phenom we saw during Stef's lecture!)

It has been stated that one out of three people, believe in ghosts.

Most individuals wish for a life after this one, a heaven if you will.
The possibility of the existence of ghost reinforces the belief that there is life after death. If there are ghosts, it is reasoned, there must be an afterlife awaiting us.
