Johnny Damon, one of my favorite Red Sox players, has been traded to the dreaded New York Yankees.
There can't be joy in Fall River today.

I'm afraid it is, Harry. I think this headline pretty well sums things up: "Damn Yanks do it again..." There's more to the story at

Thanks Doug, I'll check it out.
If they keep making decision like that it will be another 80-something years until another world series.

That's shocking!
The stupid Florida Marlins, after winning their series, traded everyone away- they might as well have closed up shop.
When you support a team and are loyal and then find they are so easily traded, or rearranged as a team & your team is never the same again- it's hard.
I guess it's just business.
(I only rooted for the Marlins as a Florida team that year- and there were no Red Sox in the mix).

"He looks like a Yankee, he sounds like a Yankee and he is a Yankee," Steinbrenner said in a statement.
Yech....

They want me to sign up to read that link!
Did I just hear on the news that he went to Dr. Phillips High School?
That's local.

Yes, I just saw him on TV. Clean shaven, a haircut and in a Yankee shirt.
Bah, humbug!
