Ebay again. Seller claims this is a photo of Andrew. You decide.

Andrew Borden?? Hogwash...

Looks a little like John G. Whittier in old age, maybe, but...

New Photo of Andrew

Harry, this photograph does resemble Andrew. It would be a younger Andrew. Trim the beard and the facial resemblance would be fairly close.

However, I think the seller is suspect. He said he had the picture for years. Why did he hold on to it for so long only to eventually offer it for sale? Does he need the money? Also, the price he is asking is pretty low for a "new" Andrew picture. For these reasons I would have to vote "no."

Does anyone happen to see a small gold ring on his finger?

I gave the fellow a shave (just call me Pierre LeDuc) and tried to make his beard similar to the known Andrew photo.

Stuart, I blew up the "hands" portion of the photo. I can't see a ring tho. Good thinking on that.

Wow you guys are good!
Good thinking too.
Great work on the photos, Har.
My remark was that this seller is a member of our Forum, Charlie.
He collects and sells axe and hatchet murder newspaper stuff.
He has been into Lizzie a long time, but he only posts occasionally.
That's why I am confused.
I think it looks remarkably like Andrew but maybe if it isn't him- it could be an Uncle?

I say that it isn't Andrew due to the fact that Andrew had more hair on the top of his head than this gentleman does. If you look at the autopsy photos of Andrew, you can see that his hairline receded, but, he does have hair on the top of his head.

I don't think so. The nose in the known picture of Andrew appears to be wider. Also, the eyes and the line of the mouth are different in the two photos.

Although the facial structure is similar, I think this man has heavier eyelids and a gentler mouth--his overall expression is more relaxed than I can imagine Andrew's ever looking. I also agree with Susan that this man's head is egg-bald on top, while Andrew was not.

It's Andrew in his stoned hippie days.

He does look rather benevolent.

Here is Harry's comparison with my addition of Abraham, Andrew's father:

Thanks, Kat. This is the first time I've seen the photo of Abraham Borden! Where is it from?

You're welcome.
I think this unidentified man looks more refined than our Borden family. Our family looks rather run-of-the-mill.
When you look at Abraham and Lizzie's youngest picture, they don't look very classy as looks were defined at the time.

EUREKA!

I figured out who I was reminded of by the new photo!

The man who plays "Miles" on the Golden Girls.

Isn't that the guy who played Jennings in the Legend movie?

We've come full circle?

Hello readers:

I'm a Boston Globe reporter working on a story about the Borden house, its new owner, and its history. I would love to chat with people interested in her history. Anyone interested in sharing their thoughts about Lizzie with me could try me on my cell phone 617. 818. 1376. or via email mlevenson@wesleyan.edu. Today, Wednesday, would be best.

Thank you and I look forward to chatting,

Michael Levenson

Hello members. Has anybody contacted this fellow? Do tell...?

From what I have gathered the question was what do you think of the B&B hosting a Starbucks? Well, I don't drink coffee so I have no opinion. Also, has anyone seen an article yet?

I have heard from Len Rebello that this picture (not necessarrily THIs picture itself) was for sale in an antique shop in New Bedford within the last 6 months- he had it in his hand- and it had a studio name originating in New Bedford.
It is probably another one of several, or one of various studies done of this gentleman who he says is NOT Andrew Borden.
