Found this site- free articles. I chose 1892. I think you can try other years- I haven't.
They open in Acrobat. Loading takes a bit of time- be patient.

I thought it was cool, too!

For those of you who don't get how this works- please see the illustration.
When you click on a link, it takes you to this page (as an example).
See where it says "VIEW FULL ARTICLE?"

That is where you click and the great-looking and easy-to-read PDF opens. You can then name it and save it, or not-- or just save the master link to go back again.

I love these new NY Times pages. My only complaint so far is some of the articles print out very small. Otherwise, it's amazing to finally have this stuff online!

Thanks so much for the site Kat! It will save me a drive to my local library. I've found many of your other links quite helpful also. Very Cool!

I second that, thank you, Kat! You have provided me with a dearth of reading material that I so look forward to perusing.

You're welcome.

I am getting "Log-IN" page now.
That wasn't there before.
Anyone else getting that? :?:

The free NYTimes site is *back to normal* now for me. Maybe it was *down* for service that night...
