I was reading thru some old posts and got to thinking.

Andrew was sick Wednesday from the afteraffects of Tuesday nights vomiting He refuses Morses offer to go to Swansea. We hae qa 70 year old man who is probably dehydrated from all this and needs to stay near a bathroom.

My questions are: how is he going to be up and about mailing Lizzies letter to Emma and checking his businesses? Did he all of the get better, or just knuckle up and do what he had to do?

If the family was suffering from a mild case of food poisoning, probably from the fish, it would have run it's course in 24-48 hours. Andrew would have felt well enough to spend a few hours tending to his business. He may have planned to spend the rest of the afternoon at home after he took care of a few things in town.

But even so, wouldn't he fell a little weak on the 3rd day, even if he was over the mild case? I think I would have stayed home, even on the third day. Sometimes illness do make a rebound, even when you think you are over it. Just a tought.

I would imagine he DID feel a bit weak. He probably planned to get his errands done early and go home and rest.

However, no offense guys, but I think women tend to take it easy after illness a bit more than men do. I have a heck of a time trying to get my husband to take it easy when he's sick. He hates to give in to illness.

I know. My brothers and father are great big babies when it comes to illnesses. You'd think they were going to die! LOL!

Both Abby and Andrew were feeling somewhat better on Wednesday, but not all the way.

I think part of their strength may have come from the fact that they went around miserably in the summer anyway and were not used to much comfort. Look at the black coat Andrew wore into town. Abby's "men's shoes" she trudged around in. Summer straw hats were "in" that summer for men. Andrew could have worn white shirt sleeves, rolled up. But no. He had to be The Man in Black, and I don't mean Johnny Cash ... "Andrew Cash", maybe ...

When Andrew came home, he wanted to lay down on the sofa because he didn't feel good.

This didn't sound like a mild illness, tho Dr. Bowen at first took it that way. This was forceful and persistent stuff.

I think Lizzie put some arsenic in their supper. It really sounds like it.

Was arsenic tested for from the stomachs? They had the capability for years.
