I was watching a show called History's Lost and Found and they had a piece on Lizzie. I have a question about something that they said about the evidence.
I know most of the evidence, such as the hatchet head and the pictures of the skulls are in the Historical Society museuem. My question is this. The show said that after the triai and aquittal, they gave all the evidence (hatchet and such) to Lizzie. She, in turn, gave the things to Jennings who put the stuff in steel tub and threw a tarp over it and put the things in the attic. after his death, his daughter found the tub with the evidence.
How accurate is that information?

The part about the hip-bath collection is true. The book "Proceedings" contained a detailed list of the items. Our Kat transcribed that list and it is in the Library at:

I recall there was a piece in the papers back then, after the trial. It said that the evidence was put into a trunk and was awaiting the Borden girls to either arrange for its delivery or for it to be called for. Apparently it was not called for.
The girls might have been packing, in preparation for their move to French Street.
Maybe that's how Jennings ended up with it?
