Mon Dieu

I am finally home....
I have missed you all. Suffice it to say my summer was not pleasant.
I went to Paris to visit my mama. While I was there she suffered a massive heart attack requiring bypass surgery.
She has since recovered.... I pray that she continues to do well and follows her doctor's orders and stays away from those lovely French cigarettes I will crave to the day I die....
I do believe that everything happens for a reason.... My mother and I never had what I would call a great relationship. If she said left I went right and she was never shy in her criticism of me even into my adulthood. We went to Toulon for her to recover from surgery and spent a great deal of time one on one.... I never realized what a wonderful sense of humor she had.... (You have to like a 62 year old woman who knows all the words to "It's raining men" and isn't afraid to get her groove on in a nightclub with a MUCH younger Italian man while her son and daughter look on with pure horror)
I have finally met the woman my mother is instead of just the mother she was.... What a wonderful privilege.
I got home this afternoon... Merci Dieu. I missed my kids and my husband. They did come over 5 times in 4 months but I was miserable without them.
Anyone up for a cleaning party? Sometimes I just want to shoot that man!
I am happy to be back... I see I have a lot of reading to do!
