I'd really appreciate your reactions -- even if critical.

Denise,
I’ve just a moment ago finished a quick read of your piece in the most recent Hatchet issue. I can only say that it truly is one of the best such pieces I’ve read in a very long time. I may have more to say about that along the way, though at the moment I’m not certain. If I had one “criticism” it would be only this: I understand your caveat off the top, but it seems to me that your present state of belief, unbelief, disbelief, or whatever you wish to call it is entirely irrelevant to your piece. It’s obviously not affected your intellectual skills a whit, or prevented you from producing an altogether excellent article, if that makes sense.

Why Yes, now that I have a printed copy of that issue of the Hatchet I have read it. I read it last night.
I was expecting a bit more Lizzie in it, but then again as the title says the Whittling is about the Bible readings that Lizzie chose more than about Lizzie herself. The 23 Psalm I think is common at funerals as I have heard it at many services. The descriptions of both verses are good.

Now I am off to read the Elizabeth Montgomery Whittling and comment on that.
Then I shall re-read other Whittlings I have read before, but have not commented on. Then I shall comment on them as well.
Oh Happy Day.
