The Fall River Historical Society has announced that in creating their new book,
Parallel Lives: A Social History of Lizzie A. Borden and Her Fall River, that they have secured the services of our own Stefani Koorey to create the index.
All of us here know of Stefani's abilities and dedication to any project that she tackles. I'm sure the index will be another fine addition to her accomplishments. Way to go, Stef!

The guardians of Fall River History and purveyors of all things Lizzie Borden at the Fall River Historical Society released another tidbit from from their book Parallel Lives.
Here they hint that there are "letters from prison" which were written by Lizzie from prison in Taunton. The release is of a salutation taken from one of these letters, written by Lizzie, and addressed to someone named Annie.
Below is the link. An excerpt of the greeting is at the bottom of the site.

The photo below would make a great "Lizzie" cover for the book if we can place an ax in place of the sword, eh?

Ooh, I hadn't seen the piece of the Taunton letter to "Annie" before. Let's see ... Annie Cheetham, Mrs. Churchill's niece who lived next door? ... Anna Howland Borden (didn't she go to Europe with Lizzie in 1890?) ... Maybe Annie Oakley wrote her and congratulated her on her aim.

Oh, thank you for posting the latest tidbit... I've often wondered about Lizzie's time in prison. Sounds like Parallel Lives really will provide a great deal of insight into Lizzie's personality and Fall River as she knew it - I'm so looking forward to this book!

Stargazer, the Fall River Historical Society does have Lizzie's dinner pail among the many items in their collection. Here's the link:

Lizzie declined to eat jailhouse food and had her meals brought in from the outside. I doubt if she ordered mutton!

Lizzie's handwriting again displays her famed hatchet strokes!
Stef noticed this way long ago in an earlier published letter- about the "little bird."
