My copy of The Crimes of Womanhood: Defining Femininity in a Court of Law, by A. Cheree Carlson, arrived today and there is an entire chapter on Lizzie Borden.

I haven't finished it yet, so when I do I will report back. However, I did want to share that the author used as source document, and cites, our own Harry E. Widdows and his transcription of the trial, available on lizzieandrewborden.com.

She also mentions the Lizzie Borden Society . . . so all of you are also mentioned!

If you would like a copy, I have a link to the book on MondoLizzie:

This looks like a great book. The Mary Lincoln trials sound interesting.
