This is a marvellous Canadian series about a Victorian detective in the 1890s. Murdoch is fascinated by forensics...as they were then. There's a woman pathologist for romantic tension over the autopsy table.
I didn't know if anyone in the US could get it (it's been out a few years), but they have just released Season One for viewing online.

Hmm- yes indeed! And Mr. Murdoch is easy on the eyes to boot! Let us have some of these here please!

Alas, I am getting a notice that this video link cannot be seen in the USA.
Okay- Amazon has the series- not cheap.

Drat! When I tried the URL it said "The video you are trying to watch cannot be viewed from your current country or location." Boo - unfair.
However they do have an interesting web site. Check it out at:

Move your cursor around the screen and click the pop ups. Cool
Would love to see the series on TV here in the States. But our TV can only find time for Paris Hilton, the Kardashians, etc.

Sorry guys! I was so hoping to share this series at last! Looks like you're afflicted with the problem I have with certain US websites.
Perhaps you all could petition the site or something? It's an excellent show.
I just discovered there are Youtube clips as well...
Thanks for providing the show's website Harry. Great clips & info on there!

Good for you! I think it's 13 episodes...that's what is displayed on the site that unfortunately you can't access.
They're about 45 mins long (1 hour show, less commercials).
Enjoy!!!

T-K- I LOVED my Murdock Mysteries- it is the original cast with Peter Outerbridge and has only 3 longer movies. Fantastic! And they get the clothing, sets, dialogue and everything spot on! I must say Outerbridge is also a heartbreaker- sigh. . .
I also ordered Season 1 with the new Detective Murdock- he's easy on the eyes (Yannick Bisson) but I am crushed about having to get used to a new person in the role when I was so enamoured with Peter! Just give me a fellow in a derby hat! The novels by Maureen Jennings on which the series is based also look superb.

Aren't they
great?! I didn't mind the transition at all...tho I think I'm more enamored of the show's concept than one or other of the actors.
The sets are fabulous & I LOVE the scenic backgrounds...which I recognize as old photos of Victorian Toronto that have been digitized to include movement & current shots that have been doctored (skyscrapers erased from sight, etc). They do an awesome job.
Isn't it also cool how the credits include names like Jennings & Bowen?
You'll love Season One too!
