Thanks you guys for the cards and best wishes! YAY!
I signed up for The Animal Kingdom, because I had never been there before.
Here is a link to a map. If you click on certain areas it shows you the attraction there. I did a LOT of walking, and managed to miss the daily thunderstorm by attending The Lion King live show!
I was told to check out The Rain Forest Cafe before leaving and it was remarkable! It was like being inside a tree! (Except there were also aquariums
) The ceiling was all leaves and branches with animatronic figures of apes and macaws and elephants hidden, who moved and squawked and roared!
I met a little girl named Caitlin whose 8th birthday it was in the restaurant. She got in free also! She walked up and hugged me Happy Birthday. Then I was wondering what her life would be like 50 some odd years from now!

The Tree of Life with some Photoshop technique- I do that if the focus is *off* a bit or when the color seems washed out, to salvage the picture

Lion King Show
This came out right next to where I was seated. There were 4 entrances where each had a huge float come out.
There was audience interaction. I was in the Lion section and we had to roar a lot!

More Lion King show
The girl in tights, in the middle, goes up to the ceiling on a twirling rope.
There was a lot of trapeze work, gymnastics and singing

I did not take any pictures of the most fantastic parts of the show because I was too busy being enthralled!
More park pictures later!

Sounds like you had a cool birthday, I love that you got a birthday hug, thats so sweet. The Lion King play looks amazing, almost like something from Cirque D'Soleil. Did you go on that Expedition Everest roller coaster? Can't wait to see the rest of your pics.

Happy Belated Birthday , Kat. So Sorry I missed it. I've been to Animal Kingdom....isn't it wonderful. I LOVED the Lion King. I would go see it again!

Thanks again, you guys!
I didn't go on any rides- only the train to the bug and petting zoo area and I did take the Safari in the Africa section. The rest were walking tours, and then the show and then the cafe.
The pictures are out of order.
But----
I wanted to tell you about My Tiger. In the Asia section there are the big bats. Then there are windows looking onto areas of *Ruins* where the tigers hang out. I could not see any tigers from the first viewing station and was getting disappointed because I realllllly wanted to see the tigers.
I went down steps and around a corner and there on my right was a tiger off in the distance. He was about 30 yards away. I had a big badge on saying I was celebrating my birthday that I wore on my string-of-beads necklace.
That Tiger got up from lolling around- looked at me from 30 yards away, and began walking towards me. He never broke eye contact, tho he did not approach straight on- he sort of detoured slightly in nonchalance- and he walked right up to my window and we looked at each other!
It was like we were the only 2 things on the earth! It was mesmerizing! We just looked at each other. It went on and on.
I thought surely he would walk away, but he didn't. I took a photo then when I realized he was going to stay there, and he was there long enough so that I fixed my settings on my camera and take a picture. Then he turned sideways, posing- And I took that picture!
Then he sort of slipped away back where he had been lolling and laid back down!
I'm in love!
He was within 2 feet of my face- face to face, behind glass. The closest I've ever been to a Tiger!

The last photo! Most of the aquariums were interconnected near the ceiling, so the fish got around quite a bit.

Isn't it amazing when you connect with a wild animal like that? The last encounter I had like that myself was with a sea otter at Sea World. The tiger probably sensed that you were a gentle soul and a cat person to boot. Beautiful pics as always, love your posing tiger, they're such magnificent cats. I always enjoy visiting the Rain Forest Cafe in Downtown Disney, the food is okay, but, its the whole atmosphere inside.
