What was Emma's official abili for Aug 4? I mean, were there people who backed her up and said where she was, that she was with them, that they saw her? I should know this, but I forget if there ever anything official. Like, was she sitting in someone's parlor in Fairhaven at the exact moment this deed was being done, with witnesses to back it up? Something along those lines. I'd appreciate if someone could refresh my memory. I know there's really no way she could have been back in Fall River during this time, but I'm curious as to her exact whereabouts that fateful morning.

In her testimony at the trial, Emma states that she was "at the house," meaning the Delano/Brownell house in Fairhaven, when she received the telegram from Fall River.

I think Dr. Bowen sent the telegram to Emma around 11:30 or so, is that right?

There was a telegraph office at the Fairhaven railroad station, which is roughly a five minute walk from "the house." This, I think, is a close as we can get to pinpointing Emma to a location that morning.
