I am sorry, I think

Post by Stefani »

Recently, I received an email from a past subscriber to The Hatchet in which they stated how upset they were with me for sending an invoice for a subscription renewal for this year. They questioned whether it was legal. They stated it was certainly rude.

I am very much confused.

I have been sending invoices to subscribers since the first year of the magazine. Paypal creates the invoice layout and I merely fill in the blanks. They changed their invoicing service since last year, and I think this may be what is causing all the consternation. It looks more like a bill than a request for renewal, and for that I am most sorry.

There was no other format to use to send out the renewals.

I must assume that if one person was angry enough to send me an email, then there are several more of you out there who feel the same way but are not writing me about it.

Please accept my apology for this and know that you are always free to cancel the invoice, pay by check, or pay the fee ----at your discretion.

And also feel free to let me know if you are upset in any way. Write me and vent. I am open to your ideas and can certainly adjust my practice to suit your needs.

Cheers,
Stefani

I had already subscribed, so I never paid much attention to the renewal part.

I thought that perhaps the same emails were sent out to everyone whether they had renewed their subscription or not, just to let people know that the next issue of the Magazine was now available.

I never took any offense to it.

Hi Stef,
As you know i emailed you about renewed sub and the invoice i received later on but i didn't take any offense - i was more worried that it meant you didn't receive my payment and i stuffed something up on paypal!
