Notable dates of the 1800's

Thought this list was so cool of some of the things that happened in the 1800's. mostly in England.

1) 1801 The first census was held

2) 1811 Prince George became Prince Regant.

3) 1812 Charles Dickens was born

4) 1815 Battle of Waterloo

5) 1820 George3 dies George 4th becomes king

6) 1825 The worlds first public pasenger railway opens

7)1829 Sir Robert founded the Metropolita Police.

8) 1833 Slavery was abloished thouhout the British empire.

9)1878 Salvation army was found by REV> William Booth

10) 1887 Sir Arthur Cona Doyle writes the first Sherlock Holmes Book.

11) 1890 First electric undderground train runs.

12) 1892 British Labour Party formed.

There are some other ones but I thought these were the most interesting.

Let us take the SAME DATES and make it a little more comparable with Lizzie Borden and fall river. (small f, small r)





1) 1801 This was the year that Nathaniel B. Borden was born. Industrialist, banker, representative, senator, and fall river mayor.

2) 1811 First cotton mill opens in fall river.

3) 1812 Fairhaven, MA, home of the Brownell House where Emma spent her time durning the murders, was incorporated.

4) 1815 Luther's store in Swansea, MA, where many of the Borden relics were donated, including furniture from the Swansea Farm and portraits of Andrew and Sharah, along with a collections of books from Emma's library, was built.

5) 1820 Pricilla B Gray, Abby's sister and Judge Josiah Blaisdell were born.

6) 1825 North End Burial Ground was founded and the Fall River Iron works was established.

7) 1829 First Fire House built in fall river and Hiram Harrington, Andrew Borden's nemesis and brother-in-law is born.

8) 1833 John V. Morse is born.

9) 1878 Abby Borden's father dies and Andrew and Almy retire from their furniture business.

10) 1887 The fall river high school, the new B.M.C Durfee, opens its doors.

11) 1890 Lizzie Borden tours Europe.

12) 1892 My grandfather is born on the Island of Madeira, 400 miles west of the Moroccan coast, and some women in Massachusetts makes big news.

And also in 1892 someone killed the Bordens. Thought there would be some things that would have happened in the US and the same time as in Europe. Thanks

1860 Lizzie Andrew Borden is born July 19th.
