I am posting this here to remind us all about the rules of proper behavior on this forum. It is copied from the ADMIN thread located at the top of the page. Please take note:

The Lizzie Borden Society Forum is a place where we do not debate politics or religion. From the outset, we all agree that we can disagree when it comes to the hot button issues, but we pledge to treat each other with respect and civility.

We do not flame each other, nor link to sites where flames against the members of this society are posted.

One of our great successes is that this forum is a safe place to play. It has never gone the route of other forums where anger and dissension mark the end of polite discussions. In fact, we have survived all these years precisely because none of that happens here.

Let's keep it that way.

I understand where you are coming from, and I think that most of it is coming towards me, so I think that maybe I need to stay off the board. Maybe that will calm down the flamming. Maybe that might calm this down, because I am the cause.(?)

Respect is a key factor in any relationship. Even between members of an online forum. The bottom line is we are all adults. We should act like adults. We all have opinions that we have the right to express. If we do not like something, for whatever reason, we can ignore it and direct our attention elsewhere. This is a voluntary exchange here. Why would anyone want to participate if they feel they will not be respected? Attacking one member leaves everyone wondering if it could be them next if someone doesn't agree with you. Disagreeing with someone at some point is a given. But even if you disagree you still respect their ideas, as you would hope they respect yours. The basis for any fruitful discussion is an exchange of ideas. Some people have studied the case longer than others, so they have a better grasp of the facts. Doesn't mean the new people to the case aren't studying facts to get just as good a grasp, just means they haven't gotten there yet. We all started on page one. This might be the first place they have had the opportunity to discuss the case in depth. And I do not mnd rehashing. A fresh pair of eyes can bring new light to an old idea. I welcome all new posters. Like a line from one of my favorite movies, "You can't know how to do something without you learn how first."

I think it is time that I move on. Apparantly I upset people.This isn't the first time I have been ripped over the coals, or flamed as it is calledd. Been nice knowing everyone. I'm gone., Bye. I'm tired of this.
