The story I posted reminds me of Capitan, a German shepherd, who stood guard over his deceased owner’s grave for six years.

I know animals mourn the deaths of their own species, and dogs and cats will mourn over the death of a human being whom they love. The thing I found very usual was that these dogs were mourning over the death of a completely different species than their own.
