Hmmm, I can't say as though I remember the Lindy Ring, but I do remember the Lindy Star Ring.
I had to look the Lindy Ring up to find out what it looked like, and I found a video of it:

Yep
That's it... the Lindy Star Ring.
Forgot to add 'star' to 'Lindy.'
Were you given one when you were a young lady? WHAT DO YOU MEAN None of your business.

No, I wasn't fortunate enough to get one when I was young. Years ago, I was looking to buy a pair of Lindy Star earrings, which I decided not to get. There were Lindy Star rings displayed in the showcase along with the earrings.

Jewelry is funny. You really need a reputable gemologist you can trust to make certain you have good value.
I once had a diamond ring I paid 500 dollars for. After having it thrown in my face more than once by my girlfriend, after some adolescent quarrel, I placed it in may pocket and never gave it back to her. I took it back to the jeweler where I purchased it and tried selling it back to him. He insisted he did not buy jewels from the public. I reminded him that I paid 500 dollar for it and just wanted 50 dollars for it. He was not interested. Which spoke to what the diamond was really worth.
Later I found a reputable jeweler who insisted that you should never purchase a diamond that is mounted unless you know what you're doing, in which case he took me out back, opened a safe, and unfolded a black velvet cloth full of diamonds. Placing one or two under a microscope he rendered upon me a lesson on the positives and negatives of diamond buying.
Thus, blue sapphire stones are the same. Lindy Star rings were synthetic stones. It should have an L engraved on the bottom of the stone to indicate as much. And as for real blue sapphires, like diamonds, there are many levels of fine or inferior stones. Real ones are never as nice looking as a Lindy star blue stone. Like vinyl siding, Lindy star rings look too perfect.

In addition to the small āLā imprinted on the bottom of the stone, a Linde sapphire's star has thin, perfectly even rays that are so clear some jewelry experts say they appear "painted on." The star is visible even in dim light and doesn't move relative to a light source. In contrast, a natural sapphire's star has thicker, slightly uneven rays, and the star moves to follow the light.

You are so right, MB. If you are looking for quality gems, you really need to have a reputable jeweler, whom you trust, to examine to item you wish to purchase to make sure it is what you want.
