Handle-less Hatchet - # of hits on Andrew vs Abby

Twins - I think I've read where you interpret the # of blows to Abby vs. Andrew as a reflection of degree of hatred. Lizzie held Abby in extreme disdain, so hit her almost twice as many times as Andrew, who she didn't hold in disdain, just rage and frustration. Hopefully I've captured that POV somewhat accurately.

Even though I don't "think" the handle-less hatchet was the murder weapon, it could come back into play if we can reasonably explain how the handle got broken off. What if, due to an existing weakened state, it broke while she was delivering hits to Andrew? That might be another explanation for the blow differential.

Just trying to develop some semi-rational solutions for the missing murder weapon. The handle-less hatchet seems out of consideration unless the handle broke in the course of action because I don't think Lizzie (or really anyone) could have broken the handle off post-murder and had time to hide in those few minutes.
