How long to walk from Main & Spring to Bordens?

To MB or any other reader who lives in Fall River.....

How long would you guess to walk from corner of Spring & S. Main to the Borden house? Apply the 70 year old filter. :) I've been guessing 3 minutes and then another minute or 2 to circle back from back door to the front door and mess around trying to unlock the door. So total of 5 minutes.

Also, its interesting that the parcel Andrew carrier was only seen after he left the new Clegg store. Ms. Gallagher saw it at the corner of Spring and Main. Kelly saw it as Andrew went to front door. Bridget saw it as he came into the house.

Its not mentioned before then. Since he picked up the broken lock at the new clegg store, could that be all it was? He wrapped the broken lock in a wad of white paper? Seems unlikely since the parcel was described as being 5x5 and more of a journal. But the timing indicates something changed at the new Clegg store. Maybe he had the parcel in his coat pocket until he replaced it with the broken lock and therefore carried the parcel rest of way home.

Retracing his tracks, the post office seems like the most probably source for the parcel.

Would love any thoughts from others on what the parcel was, why no one saw it until he got to Spring & Main and what happened to it after the murders!!!

Yes your time line would be just about right. To the front door of Borden's property on Second Street to his properties on Main and Spring is between 5 and 6 hundred feet by foot or a little over 3 hundred feet as the crow flies.
