Whether you believe Lizzie innocent or guilty, it is indisputable that she was acquitted. My question is do you think it would have changed anything if the evidence of the poison shopping (debatable as it was at the time and since) was allowed into the trial?

interesting question. In my opinion, if Bence, Kilroy & Hart had been allowed to testify along w/ the presentation of evidence indicating Lizzie's pursuit of prussic acid in New Bedford AND Lizzie's inquest testimony had been admitted as evidence, I think a hung jury would have been possible. But, on its own, doubtful if the visit to GR Smith's pharmacy would have swung the trial to the prosecution.

Lizzie had a good legal team. It certainly would be interesting to see how they handled this issue had it made it's way to the trial.
