Hi gang, the hard drive on my computer crashed, so, I don't have computer access at the moment. I've been told it might be salvaged and also that I might need a new hard drive. Just wanted to let you all know I'm still here and haven't just disappeared off the face of the earth!

I am glad it is only a technical thing keeping you from us and not something serious!

I feel your pain. I have 2 computers, and my other one's hard drive crashed. I was not able to repair it, but I still have this slow, old dinosaur. A new computer has been on my wish list for a while now!

Hi again, gang! Well, I now have a new hard drive which hopefully will be installed and I can be online again sometime this week! I have missed coming here to the Forum so much, I can't tell you! Can't wait to be back, I can see I missed out on a bunch.

You are not missing us as much as we are missing you!

The Internet is not as fast with you not on it. You are not oiling it like you used to! All those search engines and far away links you have the absolute talent to find need you! So do we!

Thanks, Audrey, you're so sweet! Well, the hard drive is in and it has taken FOREVER to locate all the disks that we need to replace my operating system for my computer. I had Windows XP, no one I know has that disk and it didn't come with the computer! So, I have Windows 98 that needs to go in first, then a Windows XP overlay, then a Windows Service Pack 2 and all this just to get me back to where I was before!!! I know nothing about doing any of this, my brother, bless his soul, has been most patient figuring out and repairing things as we go along. No one else we know really knows anything about it, so we've been on our own, hence the long period of time without a computer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be back up and running soon!

Bless ya Susan, all I can say is I've been there myself! (I remember it well; I was young and had almost no grey hair - then...KERBLAM!! Middle age and the computer age came along virtually hand in hand.)

I'd wondered why it was so quiet 'round here. then I remembered... "Susan isn't here!!"

Hi everyone!!! I'M BACK!!! I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to be back online again with my own computer!!! Ugh, I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy, 3 whole weeks without a computer, its enough to try ones sanity. But, I'm here, thanks to the kindness of so many people who did or gave to get me back in the saddle again. Oh, I've got so much reading and catching up to do, but, I'm not complaining!
